If you wish to cancel your Japanese green tea order, you have 7 days in which to do so from the date of receipt of goods. In this case the goods must be returned in perfect condition for re-sale. We will refund the cost of the goods, but postage and packing will need to be met by you. In the case of defective goods, please return them to us for scrutiny and we will refund or replace them and cover the cost of normal delivery and packaging.

Mare Kabuse Ore Tea 125g
This tea is made from ‘Gyokuro’ tea leaves’ grown in the ‘Yame’ region of Japan. It produces a deep green colour and has the mildest flavour of all the teas. ‘Gyokuro’ is a superior tea, which was originally used as a medicine. This particular tea uses the stalks rather than the leaves, and it has a sensational taste.

Fuka Mushi Kabuse Tea 125g
This tea is a mixed one called ‘Fuka mushi tea’ and ‘Kabuse tea’. It has the traditional green tea’s hint of punchy bitterness, yet a delicate mildness. ‘Fukamushi tea’ is made through an extra steaming process, so it gives strength of taste, and ‘Kabuse tea’ leaves are shaded from sun before picking, so the tea retains its mildness. This interesting combination makes fantastic ‘Sencha’ tea.

This tea is a mixed one called ‘Fuka mushi tea’ and ‘Kabuse tea’. There are two grades of green tea leaves: one is superior quality ‘Gyokuro’ and other is normal ‘Sencha’ green tea. ‘Gyokuro’ has a darker colour and slightly stronger taste. Originally ‘Gyokuro’ was drunk by aristocrats in Japan as a medicine. Since it is grown and produced with extra care, it is normally quite expensive. It is very rare to be able to get it in tea bag form.

These tea leaves are picked around May time, and during Summer they are stored for an extra length of time. This extra storage enhances the flavour. Leaves for tea bags are cut smaller than those for loose tea, in order for the flavour to infuse properly. So these teabags taste just as good as the loose tea – there is no compromise in quality.

Houjicha Loose 125g
‘Houjicha’ is roasted green tea. It is commonly drunk in the Kanto area around Tokyo, whereas people from the Kansai area tend to drink more sencha. This particular ‘Houjicha’ produces a spetacular aroma and flavour. This Houjicha uses Gyokuro’s stalk, so it has got very strong sweet aroma and delicate flavour. It is low in caffeine compared to other teas.

This is a blend of Fuka mushi tea with its mature taste, Matcha powder, and new fresh spring leaves carefully stored from the first harvest of the season. This tea produces a brilliant light green colour and has a consistently mild flavour. It makes an ideal addition to your tea collection.

Shiraore Tea 250g
This tea uses ‘Gyokuro’ stalks and some leaves. This has a fairly mild flavour compared to other varieties, but is quite economical to drink. If you drink green tea a lot, and wish to economise, then this is a very good one to have, since it is excellent quality at a reasonable price.
Connoisseur Corner
In this corner, I would like to introduce some very authentic Japanese tea, which isn’t widely available.
Matcha Tea is famous for its use in the tea ceremony, but there are two kinds of Matcha, ‘Koicha’ (Thick tea) and ‘Usucha’ (thin tea).
Authentic Gyokuro is different from ordinary green tea:- you make it in different way, and appreciate it in a different way. You can experience the depth of Japanese green tea from this tea.

Matcha Tea ‘Hoshi no mukashi’ (Usucha) 20g
Usucha is standard Matcha, and looks like normal green tea with froth. This is used for larger group tea ceremonies. This particular matcha is regularly used by ‘Edo Senke Meishinan’ (Tea Master) You use roughly one tea spoon for one Matcha cup.

Matcha Tea ‘Seiho’ (Koicha) 20g
Koicha is used for making thick tea (no froth). Normally it is used for small group tea ceremonies, and the same cup of Koicha is shared between the whole group. It is said that this type of tea ceremony is very special and the quality of tea leaves is slightly better than the other one. It looks like thick potage soup, so you use 3 tea spoon per person.

Yame Hon Gyokuro Tea 50g
This Gyokuro is grown in the traditional way and the quality is second to none. You need to make it with tepid water at 40 degrees. Like the tea ceremony, the making of this tea needs to be precise. It has quite a different flavour from normal green tea. Some Japanese Gyokuro connoiseur enjoy this incredible delicacy. Once you master how to make proper Gyokuro, you will be a true connoiseur of green tea.

Gyokuro Loose Tea 125g
This tea has a distinct delicate Gyokuro flavour and is different from ‘Yame Hon Gyokuro’. We recommend you use a tea pot. It is easy to make, tasting good even with water heated to between 70 – 80 degrees, whereas some other Gyokuro teas require more specific temperatures in order to taste good.
